1. Who We Are

RenewalCheck.ca (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated from New Brunswick, Canada. We provide AI-generated analysis of insurance and mortgage documents for Canadian consumers and property owners.

We collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Account information: name, email address, and account credentials.
  • Policy information: the contents of insurance and mortgage documents you upload, including property addresses, premiums, coverage limits, and any other details contained in those documents.
  • Payment information: payment is processed by Stripe; we do not store full credit card numbers on our servers.
  • Usage information: dashboard activity, IP address, browser type, and similar technical data collected automatically when you use the Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to:

  • Generate AI analysis reports of your policy documents.
  • Deliver reports and account communications by email.
  • Send renewal reminders for policies you’ve added to your dashboard.
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • Forward your policy details to insurance providers when you request competing quotes (only with your explicit consent at the time of the request).
  • Improve the Service and respond to support inquiries.

We share information only with:

  • Anthropic (Claude AI): Policy document contents are sent to Anthropic’s API to generate analysis. Anthropic processes this data under their own terms; we do not retain training rights to your data.
  • Stripe: Payment processing.
  • Insurance providers: Only when you explicitly request competing quotes through the dashboard, and only the policy details you authorize.
  • Email infrastructure providers: To deliver reports and reminders.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. How We Store and Protect Your Information

Data is stored on Canadian or US-based servers operated by reputable hosting providers. Policy documents and reports are encrypted in transit. We retain submission data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal and tax obligations.
